A doctor who had an emotional outburst at the Orlando International Airport (OIA) on Thursday claimed he intentionally had the meltdown to prove a point.

Jeffrey Epstein, 59, a physician who specializes in geriatrics and psychiatric medicine, claimed he threw a fit at OIA on purpose to bring attention to black people getting arrested, he told Fox 35.

“I figured a white guy getting arrested at an airport might get some attention to these black people who I think are legitimately concerned. If I was a black person, I’d be terrified,” said Epstein.

The disruption came after Epstein got annoyed that it was taking him so long to board an American Airlines flight. The airline called security after the doctor started acting disorderly. (RELATED: Swedish Student Attempts To Stop Man’s Deportation ‘To Hell’)

The doctor allegedly started screaming, cursing and even foaming at the mouth. Airport security wrestled him to the floor in order to restrain him. Officers ended up using pepper spray to get the angry passenger to submit.

“They’re really de-escalating things,” Epstein said in the video.

Epstein later admitted to Fox 35 that his “behavior wasn’t perfect.”

“I’m a provocative guy, and I do it on purpose. You know why? Because people don’t say stuff. If you say it, people will debate it and talk about it. Maybe we’ll get a solution,” said Epstein.

Police later found a bag of marijuana while searching Epstein. The physician then complained about chest pains and was taken to a doctor. However, he refused to speak to the doctor upon arrival at the hospital. He was then taken to Orange County Jail, police said, according to the Orlando Sentenial.

Epstein was charged with battery, resisting arrest, trespassing and disorderly conduct. He was later released from jail on bond.
