MSNBC political analyst Rick Tyler said there was clear collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russian government on “Morning Joe” Friday, but failed to provide any new evidence.

“There was collusion with the Trump campaign with the Russians. That was clear,” Tyler said. (RELATED: Joe Scarborough Says Russia Had Nothing To Do With Trump’s 2016 Win)

“Whether it amounted to anything, that’s not been proven,” he continued. “They were willing to meet with Russian operatives to get dirt on Hillary Clinton. I just reject the notion that the idea — we all use in the political world opposition research and opposition research people base their reputation on providing accurate information.”

Tyler said the campaign was reckless to trust Russia and claimed the evidence of collusion was overwhelming, but might not lead to any criminal charges.

“What you don’t want to happen is have your candidate go out and make an assertion that proves to be false, based on opposition research. So opposition research has to be solid. And they were looking for opposition research from a foreign government who doesn’t have America’s interest in mind,” Tyler concluded.

“They were willing to coordinate with that group, they all knew it, that’s called — that’s collusion. Now whether it meets the definition of conspiracy or broke any particular laws that’s a whole different question. But they colluded with the Russians. That’s clear.”
