A Fox News panel — including Dagen McDowell, Dana Perino and Juan Williams —took a moment during Monday’s “The Five” to blast Democrat Rep. Alcee Hastings for his inappropriate joke about the president drowning over the weekend.
WATCH:
“They criticized the president about tweeting and insults and the like, but they are great at throwing out left wing click-bait, that all these witless lemmings gobble up and then they just regurgitate it on everybody else in the form of hate. We get it all the time,” McDowell stated. (RELATED: Dem Rep. Alcee Hastings Jokes About President Trump Drowning In The Potomac River)
“I don’t think it helps, but I must say I just think it’s small. I think it’s like … don’t even think it’s that funny,” Fox News analyst Juan Williams added.
Dana Perino chimed in, “That joke’s been done a million times. It’s like an algebra problem, X and Y, you insert.”

Crisis: if @realDonaldTrump falls into the Potomac River & can’t swim.
Catastrophe: If “anybody saves his ass.”— Anthony Man (@browardpolitics) August 19, 2018
Hastings was retelling a joke from Ari Silver, the son of former Florida state legislator Barry Silver during a rally in Florida on Sunday.
“I will tell you one joke,” Hastings said. “Do you know the difference between a crisis and a catastrophe?”
“‘A crisis is if Donald Trump falls into the Potomac River and can’t swim,’” Hastings said, retelling the joke. “‘And a catastrophe is anybody saves his ass.’” (RELATED: Media Outlets Choose Not To Cover Dem. Congressman Joking About The President Drowning)
