New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Democratic socialist Cynthia Nixon had a heated debate that was full off mudslinging and accusations Wednesday night.

At one point Nixon went after the incumbent governor for not doing enough to combat Trump’s policies.

She said, “We need to oppose Donald Trump not just with rhetoric but with policy. So why for example have you not expanded access to drivers licenses to undocumented New Yorkers. If you really care about combatting the Trump agenda and stopping the mass deportations of New York’s undocumented people.”

In another contention moment, Nixon attacked Cuomo for destroying the city’s metro system. She went on to call it “unconscionable” that he would even consider raising fare prices. Further, she accused him “[stealing] hundreds of millions from the MTA budget.”

“My opponent lives in the world of fiction. I live in the world of fact,” Cuomo fired back.

Then while trying to respond to her attack, she kept interrupting him. At one point, Cuomo asked her to stop and she shot back “If you stop lying, I will stop interrupting.”

With the primary in about two weeks, Nixon has a lot of work to do to catch up with Cuomo in the polls. At the end of July, Cuomo had a 30 point lead in the polls.
