President Donald Trump had a few harsh words for the senior official in the administration who was responsible for publishing an anonymous op-ed in the New York Times on Wednesday. The piece was exceptionally critical of Trump and his leadership style.

“So if the failing New York Times has an anonymous editorial, can you believe it? Anonymous, meaning gutless, a gutless editorial,” Trump stated during an event with sheriffs at the White House.

“They don’t like Donald Trump and I don’t like them,” he added.

The op-ed was titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration,” and it was published on Wednesday afternoon.

It stated, “many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations.”

The article went on to make the claim that the administration’s successes come despite “the president’s leadership style, which is impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective.”

The article also claimed that senior White House officials have contemplated trying to invoke the 25th amendment, which would remove Trump from office.
