Former presidential candidate and Secretary of State John Kerry had a blunt opinion of the Democratic talking point of impeaching Trump.

Since the first days of the Trump administration, Democrats have been threatening to impeach President Trump. Members of the House have introduced articles of impeachment against the president and many Democrats have used the “Impeach 45” mantra on the campaign trail. Kerry, however, does not think the talking point is a good one.

When asked about Democrat impeachment efforts Dana Perino on Fox News, Kerry said he did not think it was a wise idea.

“I think it’s a mistake to talk about impeachment,” Kerry said. “I that we shouldn’t be politicizing it.”

The career bureaucrat continued, “If you put it in the discussion now, you are making something political. I think we have to be really careful and be very analytical about whatever evidence is there, and it’s not there yet,” Kerry said of the Mueller investigation.

“The Mueller investigation really has to run its course and then you can make an evaluation,” Kerry said in conclusion to the question.

Kerry also said that ICE should not be abolished and that Medicare for All should be carefully thought out by Democrats.
