Julie Chen, the wife of former CEO CBS Les Moonves, is stepping down from the network’s show “The Talk” effective immediately, according to CNN.

The news was first reported by CNN’s Brian Stelter.

“She has decided that her main focus needs to be clearing her husband’s name from accusations made 25-30 years ago and tending to her son,” a source told Stelter.

Chen will continue to host “Big Brother,” another show on the network.

Chen did not appear on the season premiere of’ “The Talk” just a day after her husband resigned about a week ago. (RELATED: Julie Chen Absent From Her CBS Show After Moonves Resignation)

“I am taking a few days off from ‘The Talk’ to be with my family. I will be back soon and will see you Thursday night on ‘Big Brother,’” Chen said addressing her absence from the show earlier this week.

Moonves resigned a little over a week ago after additional women came forward and accused him of sexual misconduct, according to The New Yorker. This was after multiple women had already accused him of the same behavior back in August. (RELATED: CBS’ Les Moonves Resigning Just Hours After Explosive New Sexual Misconduct Allegation)
