Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii continues to ramp up her attack on Republicans who questioned the credibility of accusers claiming Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted them decades ago.

“Women do not sit around making these things up,” Hirono told MSNBC Monday, criticizing Republicans who suggested the timing of these allegations, days before Kavanaugh was slated to be confirmed, seem politically motivated.

Hirono called for men on the Senate Judiciary Committee to “shut up and step up” during a press conference Sept. 18 with senatorial Democrats, and investigate the allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Daily Caller News Foundation explains Hirono’s message to Republicans and men in our latest video. Check out more live-read videos with our reporters and subscribe to TheDCNF’s YouTube channel to make sure you never miss out.
