      Ginni Thomas

Virginia Thomas, 54, is a special correspondent for the Daily Caller producing videos of emerging leaders and educators in the public square. Her ear is to the ground outside the Washington Beltway as a social entrepreneur. Previously, she was the founder of LibertyCentral.org (nonprofit for citizen activists), and has worked at The Heritage Foundation, Hillsdale College's Washington office, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the senior levels of the legislative and executive branches of government. She has maintained her midwestern authenticity after 30 years in Washington, D.C. and enjoys motor homing and the Nebraska Cornhuskers with her husband, Justice Clarence Thomas. Her degrees are: Business Communication & Political Science from Creighton University, and J.D. from Creighton Law School (Omaha, NE).

When America was attacked on Sept. 11, 2001, a Harvard Law grad from Arkansas signed up as an Army Ranger to help defend America. Now, after serving his country on the front lines, he is coming to Washington.

Tom Cotton, a veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, won his seat in Congress in overwhelming fashion last November. The new representative of Arkansas’ Fourth District brings a unique set of skills to Congress, considering his experience growing up on a farm in Arkansas, studying in Ivy League classrooms and fighting in the military.

He picks his fights like the careful way he picked his new congressional office — with deliberation, tenacity and a plan. Not even sworn in yet, this soon-to-be freshman penned a Wall Street Journal op-ed objecting, from a soldier’s perspective, to President Obama potentially nominating former Republican Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel as the next secretary of defense.

The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas recently spoke with Cotton about his path to politics, what he believes is wrong with Washington, what role he wants to play in Congress, his view of the Benghazi terrorist attack and why he thinks America worth preserving.
