If there were ever a moment in time to take a stand for American pride it’s now. If we want to preserve for our children the respect our ancestors enjoyed we need to draw a line in the sand and proclaim “enough.”

In the wake of the incident at the California school wherein students were sent home for wearing the American flag, it has become abundantly clear (to me) that we are too entrenched in political correctness to hold people accountable for bad behavior. And political manipulation is growing dangerous.

I hate it when Progressives say “I know what Tea Party people are against, but I never hear them say what they are for.” I know many Progressives have a hard time formulating thoughts of their own so let me help some of you. That’s what Tea Party attendees do, we help our neighbor whether we agree with him or not.

How loud do Americans have to scream before their government hears them? The nation’s debt keeps spinning out of control, yet all we hear on the whispering winds is that the value-added tax is on its way. What the hell? I’ve checked my bank account, I’m tapped. At the bottom of my purse might be an old lint-covered Life Saver and a state quarter, but I need that for my collection. The quarter, not the Life Saver.

For the record, let me state I oppose any violent reaction to the passage of HR 3590. There is no problem we cannot solve together by peaceful means once we vote out the impediments known as incumbents.

Something you may want to ponder: On March 22, 2010, 219 members of the House of Representatives came together and said “yes, we do have the power to tell them what they can do with their lives” and jubilantly proceeded to sign away some of your constitutionally granted freedom. What should be upper-most in your mind now is not the legislation known as health care reform, but the legislators who passed it. It has not been lost on me that 60 Senators took away some of your freedom on Christmas Eve 2009 and 219 did so on a Sabbath day. My kinder thoughts will chalk this up to coincidence and move on.
