Hurling no fewer than three accusations of Nazism at their political opponents this week, the Democratic Party has ventured into the rhetorical heights of an Internet comment thread. Unable to defend its failed record and bill of broken promises, President Obama’s Democratic Party has resorted to the last argument at its disposal: reductio ad Hitlerum, the grandest validation yet for Godwin’s Law of Nazi Analogies.

While most Americans do not approve of Barack Obama’s record in public service — to be fair, many of his critics are both unemployed and deeply in debt — the president may have just proven himself to be the finest self-servant in the land. President Obama’s now infamous “You Didn’t Build That” speech charged that “somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.” So who did? The government, according to Mr. Obama: the institution he happens to embody.

This Republican primary season has felt a lot like my past four years in college. We voters began our journey bright-eyed dreamers — just ask Bill Kristol or my own Students for Daniels. We fell in love with reckless indiscretion and were left at times with broken hearts. We had a few laughs along the way, made lasting friendships, and learned a bit about ourselves. The often-surreal challenges of the process have left us stronger and ready to take the world by storm.
