With her recent victory in the Connecticut Republican Senate primary, former wrestling CEO, Linda McMahon, can expect the litany of oh-so-predictable attacks from her Democrat opponents to continue.  There will be the mandatory wrestling references – headlines will use grappling terminology (McMahon Slams Her Opponent), and there will be the clever use of wrestling events in the place of political events (debates will be replaced by cage match references).  But the knee-jerk reaction from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) immediately following her nomination is comical at best, and shows that her opposition is - as they say in the business - green, to say the least. (more)

After an initial grace period in which most Americans were willing to give a new president the benefit of the doubt, what this nation has steadily watched is a man and an administration almost exclusively governing against the will of the people.  While the crux of his predecessors low approval ratings were in fighting an ‘unpopular war’, President Obama is watching his own approval rating plunge due to an unpopular, well, everything else.  His record has been so blatantly in contrast to the will of this nation, that it could very nearly be defined as anti-American. (more)

Ken Griffey Jr., owner of one of the most perfect swings in all of baseball, abruptly announced his retirement after 22 predominantly successful seasons. The game will sorely miss one of history’s true greats. What fun it was to watch a superstar, sporting a backwards cap and the smile of a kid playing ball for the first time. Griffey's home run swing has been considered an art form amongst the baseball elite, prompting his apt nickname, The Natural. (more)
