I am what you might call completely average. By that I mean I watched the health-care debate come to life, heat up, and start to cool off. I listened to commentary by “journalists” and talk show hosts on everything from CNN to MSNBC to Fox; read pieces in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, on The Huffington Post and here on The Daily Caller. For the past year, this country has been preoccupied with a health care crisis that was largely manufactured by the White House. President Obama addressed the country in September and told us about his plan, but he never produced it. Instead, he relegated the task of developing a plan to the House, which produced and passed its own bill; but still no Obama plan. Then the Senate got busy and produced and passed its version, but there still was no plan from the president. Monday, we saw the first glimpse of the Obama health care plan. It was not worth the wait. (more)

President Barack Obama pledged in an address to a joint session of Congress in September 2009 that any health care bill he signed would cost no more than $900 billion over 10 years and would not worsen the federal budget deficit in the short or long term.[1] (more)
