WHISTLER, British Columbia — The downhill portion of the women’s super combined Thursday morning might have looked a lot like Wednesday’s women’s downhill, with Lindsey Vonn in first place and her teammate Julia Mancuso not far behind in third. But in the slalom portion, everything turned around. Vonn ran into a gate and crashed, while her main rival, Maria Riesch of Germany, skied a dominating run and grabbed the gold medal. (more)
