Ford Motor Co. pulled an ad because of pressure from the Obama administration, the Detroit News’ Daniel Howes wrote in his column Tuesday. A campaigning Obama had Ford scratch the ad, he charges, because it presented a political liability in souring the public’s views of the bailout. (more)

MONROE, Mich. (AP) — A car bomb caused a powerful explosion on a Michigan street that seriously injured a father and his two sons, who are “very fortunate” to have survived the attack, which turned their vehicle into a blackened hunk of metal, a federal official said Wednesday. (more)
