LAS VEGAS (AP) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Republican Sharron Angle are raising money at a nearly equal clip in Nevada’s Senate race, but the senator holds a big edge in the bank. (more)

Mitt Romney’s political action committee blew away his potential rivals’, according to reports, in money raised during the latest fundraising period. Meanwhile, Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich’s political groups combined raised nearly twice as much as Romney, though most was raised through a 527 group that doesn’t have the fundraising limits that the other PACs do. (more)

April 21 (Bloomberg) — Democratic Party committees entered April with $22 million more to help their congressional candidates than Republicans, a reversal of four years ago. (more)

The organizers of this weekend’s National Tea Party — who have been accused of trying to take a leadership role in the grassroots movement largely defined by its lack of centralized leadership — announced on Friday that they are forming a political action committee to “address the next step in the growing impact of the citizen activist movement.” (more)

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s first lap on the national fundraising circuit drew $1.3 million in contributions, leaving his new political action committee a healthy stockpile to spread around in this year’s elections. (more)

The Republican primary race for a Senate seat from Florida is one of the most watched in the nation, and the fundraising numbers released Tuesday morning are matching those lofty expectations. Florida Gov. Charlie Crist pulled in $2 million for the last three months of 2009 and has $7.5 million in cash on hand, with no outstanding debts. Republican challenger Marco Rubio raised $1.75 million during the same period and has over $2 million cash on hand. (more)

London, England — He’s no Wyclef Jean or George Clooney, but that hasn’t stopped seven-year-old Charlie Simpson from raising more than £100,000 ($161,000) for the Haiti earthquake. (more)

Massachusetts Republican candidate for senator, Scott Brown, raised more than $750,000 from contributors today, according to his Web site. The fundraising is part of the 24-hour “Red Invades Blue” money bomb effort planned by the campaign for Monday. (more)
