The familiar passage from the Scriptures says: “And he gave him the name Jesus.” (Matt. 1:25). This name-giving was done in the confines of the stable in Bethlehem, of course. Naming the name of Jesus in that sheltered place would presumably have been permitted under the new guidance for “freedom of worship.” (more)

Mike Pence (IN-6) edged out Mike Huckabee by 11 votes in the Values Voter Summit straw poll last week, chatter about a potential Palin-Pence presidential bid inevitably jumped a notch or two. Police arrested a man at Dulles Airport on Thursday for trying to smuggle cocaine past security in powdered soup packets. According to the LaCrosse Tribune, customs dogs identified the man, who was traveling to El Salvador, as a suspect. It should come as no surprise that Comedy Central is developing a show practically designed to offend Christians. It isn’t surprising, but it is ironic considering Comedy Central’s refusal to even depict – much less attack – the Muslim prophet Muhammad. (more)
