A law enforcement source confirms to KATU News that Portland detectives interviewed former U.S. Vice President Al Gore this past week in San Francisco. (more)
OMG, guess what? Obamacare has more hidden expenses! — Census is over, America is jobless again — Congress is going to make damn sure that Wall Street has its fair share of chicks — Pres. Obama is so tired of signing things, secretly hopes GOP will win the House — DoD drops a cool $4 million on administering gay survey — Every time Joe Biden is allowed outside, something bad happens (more)
The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office confirmed today that a woman who alleged unwanted sexual contact by Al Gore reported it to police in 2006, and the prosecutor’s office was briefed by the Portland Police Bureau in late 2006 and January 2007. (more)
It’s a pink-letter year for Republican women. This season, more female GOP candidates than in any previous election cycle are running for national and state offices, beating the previous record year – 1994 – by 38 women. That’s a surprising development for the GOP. After all, this is the Party that as recently as last fall launched a “Republican Accomplishments” webpage and failed to include a single female representative, senator, Supreme Court justice, governor, cabinet member, or vice presidential candidate. Quick: Can you name the only two U.S. senators (both Republican) who landed on TIME Magazine’s recent list of the 100 most influential people in the world? (more)
President Barack Obama promised “change we can believe in,” but we are discovering that the more things change, the more they stay the same. In fact, the president is promoting an egregious scheme that serves only to reward his political benefactors, while needlessly driving up the cost of taxpayer-funded construction by nearly 20 percent. As I prepare this week for the big Tax Day Tea Party Protest in Atlanta on April 15; dry-cleaning my colonial garb, blacking my boots, adjusting the turkey feather in the tricorn, folding my Gadsden flag, and polishing my teapot, I reflect on what Tea Party success in November may well mean for the movement. This protest, in conjunction with all the other attendant protests nationally, will certainly alert the national media and reluctant politicos to the certainty that we have not been diminished or lost any of our enthusiasm. In fact, just the opposite is true. And I look forward to giving my modified and updated version of Patrick Henry’s famous speech from March 23, 1775, to a larger group than last years record setter. It is truly a rabble-rousing speech I think, with significant connections historically. (I’ll provide my version of it next week after I return.) (more)
A few weeks ago on these pages I shocked a lot of people by strongly stating what seems to be an obvious but important reality that Sarah Palin cannot beat President Obama in 2012. While many of her incredibly passionate fans are still understandably unwilling to accept this clear fact (and therefore take their frustrations out on me), this post is not to gloat over the most recent credible poll showing that Palin would be, as I predicted, the worst possible contender against an Obama who still is a strong favorite to win reelection. Instead, I want to praise Palin for possibly understanding this situation and reacting brilliantly to it. (more)
Last week I made a rare appearance on MSNBC (a network on which I have had numerous “YouTube moments” since the 2008 election, when they became the “Obama Network”) and shared some statements which apparently shocked some of my fellow conservatives. (more)
Former Vice President Dick Cheney’s office says he had a “mild heart attack” this week — his fifth — but is in stable condition and will be released from the hospital in a couple of days. (more)
