MONTPELIER Vt. (AP) — A Vermont woman locked in a child custody battle with a former partner who has since renounced homosexuality wants her ex held in contempt.

A lawyer for Janet Jenkins filed an emergency motion for contempt on Monday that seeks court sanctions and the assistance of law enforcement in locating Lisa Miller.

Miller was ordered Friday to turn over their 7-year-old daughter to Jenkins but failed to do so.

The motions were filed in family court in Rutland, Vt. No hearing date has been set.

Miller and Jenkins got a civil union in 2000 and the girl was born to Miller through artificial insemination in 2002.

They broke up a year later, and Miller moved to Virginia.
