LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — The top price at the opening session of Keeneland’s January Horses of All Ages Sale was $325,000 paid for stakes-winning Miss Catalyst.

The 4-year-old filly by Mr. Greeley, currently recovering from a stress fracture in her left hind, was consigned as a racing or broodmare prospect and purchased Monday by Randy Gullatt, manager of Steve Davison’s Twin Creeks Farm near Versailles.

Sales totaled $6,592,600, down 44.81 percent from last year’s $11,945,900, while the average price was $37,037, down 37.37 percent from 2009.
