BURBANK, Calif. (AP) — The Walt Disney Co. said Thursday that it named Sean Bailey president of production for Walt Disney Studios as part of an ongoing restructuring plan. Bailey replaces Oren Aviv, who stepped down from the post Tuesday after 20 years with the company.

Bailey will be in charge of live-action film development, film production and physical production for Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures.

Bailey is the founder and president of production company Ideology Inc. and counts the movies “Matchstick Men” and “Gone Baby Gone” among his producing credits.

The company announced other personnel changes Thursday as well.

Chuck Viane, president of distribution for the Studios, is now responsible for worldwide sales and distribution. Christine Cadena, a senior vice president of marketing, synergy and franchise development, was named a senior vice president responsible for diversity and multicultural work while Michelle Sewell was promoted to the post of senior vice president for global publicity at the division.

The company hinted that layoffs may be coming, too, saying in a statement that it will “continue its reorganization of the work force at Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.”

Walt Disney Co. shares fell 83 cents to $31.03 in afternoon trading.
