ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) — Police say at least three men have died in a small plane crash in the Cleveland area.

Lt. Travis Hughes, commander of the Elyria post of the State Highway Patrol, tells The (Elyria) Chronicle-Telegram that the plane was approaching the Lorain County Regional Airport in Elyria shortly after 2 p.m. when it crashed.

Hughes says Federal Aviation Administration officials from Cleveland are on their way to the site.

The newspaper reports that an FAA database shows that the multiengine turboprop plane is owned by Mitts Corp. of Gainesville, Fla.
