TORONTO (AP) — Shaun Marcum and the Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to an $850,000, one-year contract, more than doubling the $405,200 he made last year.

The 28-year-old righty, eligible for arbitration for the first time, missed last season while recovering from elbow ligament replacement surgery. He was 0-2 with a 2.30 ERA in five minor league rehabilitation starts.

Marcum is 24-17 with a 3.95 ERA in 64 career big league starts and 25 relief appearances.

Five Blue Jays remain in arbitration, and all are pitchers: right-handers Jason Frasor, Shawn Camp, Casey Janssen and Jeremy Accardo and left-hander Brian Tallet.
