Agriculture futures mixed, livestock futures rise

CHICAGO (AP) — Agriculture futures were mixed in early trading Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for March delivery dropped 9 cents to $5.01 a bushel; March corn edged up 0.25 cent to $3.7125 a bushel; March oats were flat at $2.31 a bushel; and March soybeans fell 3 cents to $9.71 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

February live cattle added 0.22 cent to 87.57 cents a pound; March feeder cattle rose 0.47 cent to 99.12 cents a pound; February lean hogs gained 0.48 cent to 70.45 cents a pound; and February pork bellies climbed 0.90 cent to 90.50 cents a pound.
