Serena Williams wants Andy Roddick

MELBOURNE – Serena Williams would like to partner Andy Roddick in the 2012 London Olympics mixed doubles after combining with sister Venus to win gold in the women’s event at the 2000 Sydney and 2008 Beijing Games.

Mixed doubles were added to the London 2012 program last year and will include 16 teams in an elimination format.

“Hopefully I’ll be chosen on the Olympic team,” Williams said Thursday after she defeated Petra Kvitova in the second round of the women’s singles at the Australian Open. “I’m gonna have to play a little mixed so I can get my body ready.
