It sure seems like climate scientists do a lot of lying

Font Size:

Is “lying” too harsh? They say things that aren’t true, and they pretty much have to know those things aren’t true. That’s the definition of lying, isn’t it?

Via Ace of Spades, the Daily Telegraph says:

The United Nations’ expert panel on climate change based claims about ice disappearing from the world’s mountain tops on a student’s dissertation and an article in a mountaineering magazine.

At this point, do you need to read any more to know what you think about it? I kind of don’t. They’ve based this whole thing on, basically, nothing. Al Gore wants us to drop everything and throw even more money at him because somebody took a picture of a polar bear on a piece of ice that looked like it might have melted a bit. And OMG! The polar bear was roaring! (BTW, did you know a polar bear can swim up to 100 miles? Can you do that?)

These guys have fudged the facts or just plain made them up. To borrow a phrase from Mr. Gore, they’ve played on our fears. And they’ve tagged anybody who’s the least bit skeptical as “climate deniers,” quite possibly the stupidest epithet in the history of the world.

Climategate. Copenhagen. Now this crap. I have nothing but respect for the scientific method and the good, honest people who practice it. But these creeps don’t qualify.
