Alec Baldwin rushed to hospital after OD scare

A representative for Alec Baldwin has dismissed fears for the star’s health, insisting the actor’s admission to hospital in the early hours of Thursday morning was a “misunderstanding.”

Paramedics were called to the “30 Rock” star’s New York apartment, following a 911 call, believed to have been made by his 14-year-old daughter, Ireland, his only child with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

The 51-year-old was described as “unresponsive,” according to a “Today in New York” TV report, but is said to have been conscious when medics arrived and agreed to let them transport him to Lenox Hill Hospital, where he remained for more than an hour before being released.

A statement from Baldwin’s spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, reads, “This was a misunderstanding on one person’s part. Alec was quickly released from the hospital; he’s completely fine and will be at work today.”

The rep adds in a statement to GossipCop.com that “absolutely no drugs or alcohol” were involved in the incident.

Further details about Baldwin’s condition were unavailable as WENN went to press.
