Bloggers and tweeters take the 2010 Games global

The first truly digital Olympics are upon us, according to social-media mavens who say the public’s unprecedented access to content — including that which comes from a special Vancouver media centre for unaccredited bloggers, tweeters and citizen journalists — will turn the Games into a global shindig like no other.

But if it’ an online party, it’s not one being hosted by the International Olympic Committee so much as chaperoned by it, thanks to such stringent social-media restrictions that anyone with an Internet connection and a desire to share stands to be in violation.
