According to reports coming out of Europe, the main suspect in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway has confessed in a media interview. Joran van der Sloot has long been named the chief suspect by law enforcement officials on the Caribbean island of Aruba, where Holloway was visiting in the summer of 2005.
The Joran van der Sloot confession comes just weeks after the death of his father in the Netherlands. Reportedly, Van der Sloot confessed while being interviewed on German broadcasting channel RTL. He claimed that Holloway’s body was dumped in a swamp on the island. Officials in Aruba are said to be skeptical of this confession.
