A cruise ship travelling in the Mediterranean Sea was struck by a series of monster waves, upwards of almost 30 feet. The “Louis Majesty,” a 1790 passenger ship, was off of the coast of southern France on Wednesday when the waves hit the luxury liner. Passenger George Cremex told the AP that “it was spectacular.” Cremex elaborated by saying “alot of water came in. Many cabins were flooded. Many people were very frightened.”

Two passengers were killed when the cruise ship was hit by the freak wave and another 14 individuals were injured. The “Louis Majesty,” which is owned by Louis Cruise Lines, limped to the port of Barcelona, Spain to undergo a damage assessment.
