Rapper Lil Wayne is beginning his jail sentence today for weapons charges. He arrived today at New York’s Rikers Island to start his one year sentence. Reportedly, with good behavior in jail, the superstar could be out in as little as eight months. The sentence for Lil Wayne was handed down on Monday.
Lil Wayne, born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., was arrested in July of 2007. Initially, the rap star pleaded not guilty, but changed his plea in exchange for a lighter sentence. His sentencing was delayed two times, due to his dental work and because of a courthouse fire.
