A Mexican military chopper apparently violated American airspace and hovered over a residential neighborhood in Texas. The incident took place on Tuesday, with the chopper full of armed military officers from the Mexican naval branch. According to Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez, photos indicate the helicopter was over the Falcon Heights-Falcon Village neighborhood.

“It’s always been said that the Mexican military does in fact … that there have been incursions,” Gonzalez said. “But this is not     New Mexico or Arizona. Here we’ve got a river; there’s a boundary line. And then of course having Falcon Lake, Falcon Dam, it’s a lot wider. It’s not just a trickle of a river, it’s an actual dam. You know where the boundary’s at.”

This marks another incident along the border between the U.S. and Mexico, that has been escalating in recent weeks. A recent spat of drug related violence has had the region on high alert, which has made this incident all the more noticeable.
