Your Treach-knee update

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve bored you with details of how my knee is healing up. Did you notice? Me neither.

Well, I’ve started outpatient physical therapy a couple of times a week. It’s a little more involved than the in-home therapy I’ve been doing. Stretching, strengthening, heat, cold, electrical stimulation, etc. Good stuff. The therapist is just a few doors down from the Daily Caller offices, so after my PT I’ve been coming into the office and making everybody uncomfortable with my gimpiness. I’m here right now, actually. Everybody in the office has been great, except for one guy who’s been contributing to a hostile work environment. (And I’ve got the pictures to prove it.) So the therapy is going well, and it’s nice to be back among my co-workers again. They’re the best bunch of people I’ve ever worked with, and I’ve worked with a bunch or two.

I’m getting pretty good with the crutches, and I haven’t needed the wheelchair in weeks. I’ve gotten used to doing everything on one leg. And I do mean everything. Went to the zoo last weekend, and went to Labash’s book party last night. It’s kind of awkward and embarrassing, being The Guy With The Crutches, but it beats being stuck inside all the time.

So things are going well. Feels good to keep making progress. I’ll keep you posted!

P.S. Oh, and I’m still taking the blood thinners and getting my blood tested twice a week because of the pulmonary embolism. It looks like we’ve got it at the thinness-level we want. Knock on hemoglobin.
