With its pigtail head, natural Habano tip, and dark, ultra-shiny oscuro wrapper, the Mysterio by La Flor Dominicana is as much a work of art as it is a cigar. But don’t dismiss this seven inch by 54 ring gauge perfecto as a gimmick–because it’s also a joy to smoke.

After an initial burst of pepper, the Mysterio settles into a full-bodied combination of oak, espresso, and roasted nuts. It has impressive balance despite its formidable flavor profile, with a cedary, dry finish. The robust flavors make for a perfect finale to a fine steak dinner, preferably paired with a peaty single malt scotch.

Given that only master cigar rollers can construct this remarkable cigar, it should come as no surprise that the Mysterio’s construction is impressive. It has a sturdy ash, an even burn, and an easy draw that produces volumes of cool smoke. So when you’re looking for an excellent full-flavored cigar that can start a conversation even before it’s lit, it’d be hard to make a better choice than the La Flor Dominicana Mysterio Oscuro.
