Now that Alex Rodriguez finally has a World Series ring, he’s not going to tuck it into a vault like some of his teammates say they will. “I know a lot of guys are talking about how they’re not going to wear it because they’re too cool,” Rodriguez said. “Well, I call BS on that.
“I’m going to wear it and wear it every day. Heck, if they let me wear it to third (Tuesday), I was trying to do that. But I think it would’ve broken the rules.”
Rodriguez, notorious for choking in the playoffs before 2009, was terrific last October and said the ring “means the world to me. That’s why you play the game of baseball. That’s why in 2003 I wanted to come to New York and change positions and be part of the greatest franchise in the world. We’ve had some ups and downs here, but last year made it all worthwhile.”
