Apparently, twitter is giving ALL PUBLIC TWEETS published since 2006 to the Library of Congress. Like, in a box maybe? From the LoC’s twitter feed:
Not sure what the implications of this are–or even if the LoC will be given access to deleted tweets. But it’s bound to irk a few people, especially if they delete their tweets in order to erase them from public view.
