Police seize photos of James Madison University riot

Armed with a search warrant, JMU and Harrisonburg police took the 600 shots of the campus uprising during Springfest earlier this month from The Breeze, James Madison University’s student newspaper. Officers had vans ready to seize the computers, if the photos weren’t handed over.

“I didn’t really have any other choice except to give them the photos because I didn’t want them to take everything out of this newsroom,” said Editor-in-Chief Katie Thisdell.
