KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — Police said they arrested a 66-year-old woman accused of firing a gun into the air to break up her neighbors’ backyard party. The woman was booked into the Benton County jail for investigation of unlawfully discharging a weapon in the city limits. Police were called to her home Sunday night after neighbors reported a shot being fired into the air.
The woman told police she was upset about the party but said she only smacked a frying pan on a wooden fence.
Officers said she denied even owning a gun, but they said they found a loaded .32-caliber derringer in a kitchen cupboard.
