OTTAWA COUNTY — The image still gives Geri Young the chills: Her 2-year-old pregnant cow, Mildred, lying face down on the ground with a bullet hole between the eyes.
The Jamestown Township woman struggled to hold herself together as she came upon the gruesome scene last weekend — a slaughter that police are calling a possible case of witness intimidation.
“I was just so devastated,” said Young, 44, of Sunday's early-morning shooting of the family's pet. “I don't know how to describe it because she was just so perfect and so sweet.”
