A 77-year-old Bedford County man had to be treated in a Roanoke hospital after he said his 28-year-old girlfriend beat him with his own cane, Bedford County authorities said Friday.
William Herchenrider, who lives in the 1600 block of Rock Haven Road in Goode, suffered severe injuries Tuesday and was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, according to the sheriff’s office. A hospital spokesman said he had no information on Herchenrider’s condition, but a Bedford deputy said he believes Herchenrider is still a patient in the hospital.
