SWISHER, Iowa (AP) ―Police in Swisher have arrested a man for allegedly punching a 70-year-old man because he was offended by his driving.

Police allege Brandon Poulson was driving behind a man and wife on March 27, when he yelled and cursed at the man for “driving like an old man.”

The man pulled over to let Poulson pass. However, police say the 22-year-old Poulson stopped alongside, got out his truck and struck the man in the head and face several times, injuring the elderly man, who was not identified.

Authorities say Poulson admitted striking the man because he was upset with the way he was driving.

Poulson was being held Tuesday in the Johnson County Jail on a $10,000 bond for causing bodily injury. It wasn’t immediately known if Poulson has a lawyer.
