A 60-year-old Manitoba man has been sentenced to nearly a year in jail for molesting his neighbour’s autistic son.
“Before this happened, he was my friend and he called me son,” said the now 16-year-old boy, in a victim impact statement read out in court.
Justice Lea Duval credited the man the double-time equivalent of 91/2 months in jail and ordered him to serve an additional 60 days in custody.
