ADA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) – A bicyclist who was struck by a hit-and-run driver was found an hour later at a bar but ran from deputies and dove into the Grand River when they tried to help him. He was later arrested.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Department got a call around midnight Wednesday from the passenger in the vehicle who said they hit the bicyclist on E. Fulton Street between Pettis Avenue and Sargent Avenue SE in Ada.

The caller told police the driver didn’t stop at the scene and continued home.

Deputies and rescue personnel responded to the area to look for the bicyclist. But no one was found.
