The BP oil spill is just like 9/11 and stuff

Roger Simon at Politico seems to have a knack for drawing out really stupid quotes from Obama. Here’s the latest:

“In the same way that our view of our vulnerabilities and our foreign policy was shaped profoundly by 9/11,” the president said in an Oval Office interview on Friday, “I think this disaster is going to shape how we think about the environment and energy for many years to come.”

One important difference: After 9/11, the President of the United States actually did something. Oh yeah, and then there’s the fact that 9/11 was an act of mass murder. But other than that, excellent analogy.

Hey, didn’t Bush catch a lot of heat for using 9/11 as an excuse to do a lot of stuff some folks didn’t like?

As the DC Morning points out: “Apparently, some people do not like to have the slaughter of their loved ones by terrorists compared to the habitual mismanagement of the MMS by two branches of government over the course of a decade.”
