One in five older Americans have been victimized by financial scams, study shows

More than 7.3 million Americans age 65 and older have already been victimized by a financial swindle, according to a survey released Tuesday by the Investor Protection Trust.

That represents about one out of every five citizens over the age of 65.

The survey, released in conjunction with World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, also notes:
