Kellogg recalls breakfast cereals over taste, smell

Foul smells from some breakfast cereal packs prompted Kellogg Co to voluntarily recall a few of its products in the United States, the company said on Friday.

The world’s largest cereal maker said it had noticed “an uncharacteristic off-flavor and smell” from the liner in the packaging of its popular Apple Jacks, Corn Pops, Froot Loops and Honey Smacks products, but chances of serious illness from the smell were low.

However, the recalled products could cause nausea and diarrhea among sensitive customers, the company said.
