The Daily Caller’s campaign videos of the week

Some are just shocking, some are weird and others might actually win them some votes. Of the hundreds of campaign videos released this week, here are some of our favorites here at The Daily Caller:

Most outrageous ad of the week: Republican Liz Carter is running for Congress in Georgia, and enlisted “the world’s strongest redneck” to duct-tape a phone book and then rip it to shreds in support of her campaign. The campaign tells The Daily Caller that he’s wearing a 3-XL size shirt.

Embarrassing ad of the week: Rory Reid, the son of Sen. Harry Reid who is running for governor in Nevada, released his first TV ad of the cycle — a positive spot featuring children — but conspicuously doesn’t mention his last name. His father, of course, is in a tough re-election fight, so it might not be the best time to flaunt the family name.

An effective Republican ad: Glenn Beck said JD Hayworth’s campaign to become Arizona’s senator was over following this ad. Clips of Hayworth, running against McCain in the Republican primary, from an old infomercial are shown of Hayworth urging viewers to attend a free seminar to get free government money. Consumer advocates have called that infomercial misleading.

An effective Democratic ad: Even though poll numbers show Sen. Harry Reid trailing his Republican opponent, Sharron Angle, the majority leader has been effective so far in keeping the focus off him and on Angle — and what he considers her “extreme” positions.

Funniest (and yes, this one is a fake): This ad is for the fictitious Clint Webb for Senate is a must-see, making fun of every cliché political TV ad out there.
