Newnan police are crediting a clairvoyant with helping them identify and catch a man suspected of assaulting women.

They say the clairvoyant’s information was so helpful, they’re now consulting with her to help crack a couple of other cases.

Her work is an unconventional police weapon — and an unprecedented one, for the Newnan Police Department.

Detective Sergeant Rick Mires was skeptical about it, at first.

When the clairvoyant came forward, she gave Mires information about an unsolved sexual attack last year on a 90 year old Newnan woman, inside the woman’s home. The victim had not been able to give police a description of the man who attacked her.

Mires said Monday that the clairvoyant not only gave him an accurate description of the man and his van — descriptions that no one, then, knew — but she also told Mires facts about the case that only Mires knew.
