A Mount Orab mother has admitted she bilked the Girls Scouts out of $8,256.50 in cookie sale money.
According to Brown County Sheriff Dwayne Wenninger, Donya R. Waits, 35, pled guilty to a charge she received 2,359 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies in January, valued at $3.50 each. Waits told police her child had sold the cookies, but Waits never forwarded the proceeds to the scouting organization, Wenninger said.
Waits pled guilty to theft, and fourth-degree forgery.
Waits is being held accountable for the cost of the cookies, Girl Scout officials said.
