Get out your bathtubs, it’s time to go racing.
The 43rd annual World Championship Bathtub Race is set for Sunday in Nanaimo, B.C.
The fun got underway Thursday with workshops, music and the firing of the historic bastion cannon. The sailpast on wheels parade is planned for Saturday morning, with a theme of Canadian Naval Centennial 1910 – 2010.
The four-day event is organized by the Loyal Nanaimo Bathtub Society. The first race was held in 1967 to mark the country’s centennial.
